Harry Edward “Eddie” Olivier a lifelong resident of Morgan City succumbed to cancer at his residence on Thursday, February 3, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Eddie started working for his father at Olivier Chevrolet which started his career in the automotive parts field; he was employed with Franks motor Company for 18 years, and then Courtesy of Morgan City for the past ten years. He enjoyed fishing, was an amateur painter, sang in the church choir and was a member of the Kights of Columbus. Eddie always will be remembered as a devoted family man and loving father, who loved spending time with family and friends. He was loved by many.
Eddie is survived by his wife of 21 years, Deborah “Debbie” Hauser Olivier; son, Michael Aucoin and fiancée, Jewel Hopper of Morgan City and daughter, Heather Clark and her husband, Michael of Ville Platte. Eddie is also survived by his mother, Dorothy Olivier of Bayou Vista; three brothers: Robert “Bobby” Olivier Jr. and his wife, Kim of Bayou Vista, Joey Olivier and wife, Bethany of Houma, William “Billy” Olivier and wife, Kristie of Bayou Vista; two sisters: Danette Mollere and husband, Pat of Ponchatoula and Katie Adam and her husband, Tom of Omaha, NE; three aunts: Mary Hodge of Bayou Vista, Jacky Vidrine of Ville Platte and Cecile Daumuller and her husband, Bill of Freeburg, IL; his mother-n-law and father-n-law, Catherine and Richard Hauser of Morgan City; sister-n-law, Kim Cape and husband, Mike of Houma; grandmother-n-law, Helen Comeaux of Morgan City; grandsons: Jayme Wininger, Taylor Clark and granddaughters, Kaylee Booty and Briana Toups; a very special Aunt and Uncle, Janet and Irving “Manny” Comeaux and many other family and friends.
Eddie was preceded in death by his father, Robert J. Olivier Sr., sister, Dotty Olivier; Uncle, Albert Olivier; niece, Tyra Olivier and nephew, Joshua Adam.
A time of remembrance and reflection will be held Tuesday, February 8th at 6pm until 9pm at Twin City Funeral Home. The Knights of Columbus will conduct a Rosary Service at 7pm. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, February 9th at 8am until 11am at Holy Cross Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11am. Eddie will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery following the mass.
