Harold Christopher “Chris” Mire September 2, 1045 February 6, 2011 Harold Christopher “Chris” Mire, a lifelong resident of Morgan City passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Teche Regional Medical Center. Chris was an all around sports enthusiast; he played football, baseball, basketball and track for Central Catholic High School. Back in high school he was affectingly known as “Rabbit”. He was a dedicated fan of the Saints and LSU football teams. Chris was a wonderful provider for his wife and children and always made sure they were taken care of. His three dogs: Sasha, Bailey and Sonny held a very special place in Chris’ heart; he loved them very much. Because of his personality and generous nature, Chris was love by all who knew him. He will be missed greatly. Chris is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dorothy Dillard Mire; one son, Brian Mire and his wife, Danielle of Morgan City, two daughters: Terry Perry of Morgan City and Sheri Reyes and her husband, Juan of Patterson; five grandchildren: Jennifer Mclaughlin and her finance’, James Edwards, Ryan Taylor and his companion, Kelly Sumeral, Mario Reyes and his finance’, Cheryl Hoehn, Kimberly Graham and her husband, Gary and Joshua Adams; nine great grandchildren; one sister, Patsy Mire Wilson and husband, Louis of Morgan City; one brother, Leroy Mire Jr. and wife, Betsy of Marksville. Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Della Mire and one daughter, Sharon Taylor Oquinn. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Twin City Funeral Home beginning at 6pm until 9pm and resuming at the funeral home on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 9am until 10am. The service will start at 10am at Twin City Funeral Home and Chris will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery following the service. Twin City Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
