Ada G. Aucoin, 78, a native of Cutoff, Louisiana, and a resident of Morgan City, passed away Friday, July 15, 2011 at her home.
She was born on November 21, 1932 in Cutoff, the daughter of Edgar and Dorina Matherne Guidry.
Ada enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting, and pottery work. She also had a love for music and dancing, she enjoyed fishing, camping, and traveling. She was a great cook and was a jokester.
Ada is survived by a son, Rudolph Aucoin, Jr.; one daughter, Barbara Ann Aucoin, three sisters, Wilma G. Cook and husband Charles, Dorina Billiot, and Joyce Billiot. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Heather Anderson, Rudy Aucoin, Dustin Aucoin, Devin Aucoin; two great-grandchild, Jaden Anderson and Jay Shane.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rudolph Aucoin, Sr.; one brother, Emile Guidry, two sisters, Rosemae G. Matherne, Ozema G. Comeaux.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 8:00 AM until the time of mass at the church on Tuesday. Ada will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum.
