Amos E. Millet, 60, a resident of Bayou L’Ourse and a native of Berwick, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2007. Amos loved fishing, shrimping and crabbing with his father, he was an avid reader and enjoyed challenging trivia games like Jeopardy. Amos enjoyed the Casinos, fried seafood, especially soft shell crabs and music from the 50’s and 60’s, watching all sports. He was also an avid coin and book collector. Amos loved life, God and his family.
Amos is survived by his three sisters; Cyretha “Dee” Mills and her husband Kenneth Hebert Sr. of Bayou L’Ourse, Judy M. Anslem and her husband William of Bayou L’Ourse and Ruth M. Champagne of Bayou L’Ourse. 14 nieces and nephews, 29 great nieces and nephews.
Amos was preceded in death by his parents Hugh and Lovenia Sons Millet, two brothers, Edward and John Millet, one sister Eugenia “ Gina” Mareno and a great nephew Cory Daniel.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 14, 2007 at Twin City Funeral Home from 3pm until 9pm resuming Friday, June 15, 2007 from 9am until 2pm. Funeral services commence at 2pm Friday at Twin City Funeral Home. The East St. Mary Veteran Funeral Squad will conduct graveside services. Amos will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
