Wilton Joseph Autin Sr.

Wilton Joseph Autin Sr, a native of Little Calliou and a resident of Amelia passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his family.
Wilton grew up hunting, fishing, trapping, gator hunting and was a boat pilot. He was a joy to be around and loved telling stories of his life. Wilton Sr. was also Paw Paw to many other children who came in and out of his life. They loved him dearly. He taught many things to all who came into his life over the years and for that he was well respected. His wife, Barbara, of 60 wonderful years preceded him in death earlier this year.
Wilton is survived by his two sons: Benny Autin of Broussard and Wilton Autin Jr. and his wife, Gerry of Amelia; one daughter, Lela McMichael and her husband, Terry of Sulpher; nine grandchildren: Benjy and Bruce Autin, Sabrina Voisin, Kendra Foret, George Boutwell, Amy Hampton, Renaee Pacheco, Dez VanHella and T.J. McMichael; 14 great grandchildren: Caleb, Bailee, Micaela, Ashley, Harley, Madison, Faith, Bryce, George, Cierra, Miraih, R.J., Kallie and Erich along with sisters and brothers-n-laws: Lucy and Johnny Tabor, Cleveland and Shirley Ohmer, Helen Faye and Alan Benoit, Loretta Tabor, Lona Pennison, Geneva Ohmer and Huey Ohmer Sr.
Wilton was preceded in death by his parents: Benjamin and Gertrude Autin and son, Philip Autin.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 beginning at 1pm until 10pm with a service beginning at 8pm at Twin City Funeral Home.
