Julius David Gaudet Sr., 64, a resident of Bayou Vista and a native of Morgan City, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Julius loved the outdoors and being on the water. He was and avid alligator and wild game hunter, Julius also enjoyed sport fishing. Julius was a very kind and giving man, he never met a stranger and was a friend to everyone. Julius was gifted with the ability to tell great stories, he could talk for hours. He will be missed by everyone that knew him.
Julius is survived by his six children, Bridget Gaudet of Hattiesburg, MS, Julius Gaudet Jr. of Conway, AR, Joella Gaudet of Alexandria, LA, Brandon Prejeant of Shreiver, LA, Valicia Prejeant of Gibson, LA, Deiadrie Prejeant of Houma, LA. Two brothers, Linwood and Gilday Gaudet, one sister, Eva Mae Ohmer. Julius is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Keefe Vest, James Vest, Daytona Gaudet, Keith Grose, Justin Prejeant, Seth Prejeant, Emily Prejeant and Kate Prejeant and one great grandson, James Vest.
Julius was preceded in death by his parents, Gilday Gaudet and Ella Mae Dupre Gaudet.
A visitation will be held Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church from 8am until 10am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church commencing at 10am. A eulogy will be given by Scott Connelly and the readings for Mass will be read by Melanie Andrews and Sonya Collins. Julius will be laid to rest in St. Andrews Cemetery.
