Juanise Lovell Floyd, a resident of Bayou Vista, was received into eternal rest on August 24, 2011. She passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, on the shrimp boat, in Oyster Bayou, doing what she loved at the tender age of 44.
She was a devoted wife to the love of her life. She was there for every and anything he needed. She was a True Mother! She loved her kids and provided them with a home full of love, home -cooked meals daily, her time and energy, her ability to communicate with them on any level.
She was the best daughter a mother could ask for, the most awesome sister that anyone could have, you couldn’t ask for a better aunt/nanny she loved those kids and was a friend of many. You never would go hungry around Juanise’s house as you were always welcome to grab a bite of whatever she had cooked. Some of our favorites were her Beef stew, chicken spaghetti and shrimp dip. She loved her peanut butter candy and she liked talking and getting to know people. She loved to put the music blaring, jammin’ to the radio. She enjoyed playing Bingo and would give the shirt off her back to a stranger, friend or family member.
Juanise is survived by her husband of 24 years, Joel Floyd; one daughter, Shara Floyd; one son, Joel Floyd II, all of Bayou Vista; mother Geraldine Lovell of Bayou Vista; two sisters, Jennine Lovell Martin and her husband Michael, and Cresside Lovell, all of Bayou Vista; two brothers, Leroy Lovell, Jr. and his wife Sheila, of Theriot, Leeland Lovell and his wife Katie of Morgan City; mother and father-in-law, Margaret and Edward "Smokey" Floyd, of Bayou Vista; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Leroy Lovell Sr.; maternal grandmother and grandfather Thelma Adams Lacoste and Gerald Lacoste; grandfather Oscar Lacoste Sr.; paternal grandmother and grandfather Nora Dehart Lovell and Vincent Lovell.
