Elwood Rulf, 73, a resident of Morgan City, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2007 at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center. Elwood was born August 5, 1934, to Frank and Lydia Givens Rulf. Elwood was well loved by all that knew him and was known for his strong, silent demeanor and caring smile.
Elwood is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Jimmy Aucoin of Berwick, and daughters, Cheryl Landry and Terry Rulf, both of Morgan City; grandchildren, Tiffany Aucoin Coleman of Patterson, Chad Michael Landry and his wife Michele of Baton Rouge and Kalyn Michelle Landry of Morgan City; great-grandchildren, Addie Grace Coleman and Bradley Michael Landry; his brother Frank “Bud” Rulf and his wife Leona of Bayou L’Ourse and sisters, Bessie Hastings and her husband Tommy of Groesbeck, TX, Shelby Cantrell and her husband Jessie of Deer Park, TX, Diane Blakesley of Pasadena, TX and Lydia Alemand and her husband Calvin of Bayou Vista.
Elwood was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife Doris Bigler Rulf and stepson, Michael Lodrigue.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at Twin City Funeral Home from 6pm until 9pm resuming Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at Twin City Funeral Home from 9am until dismissal at 1:30pm. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at Pharr Chapel United Methodist Church in Morgan City at 2pm. The Rev. Lamar Oliver will conduct the service.
Elwood will be laid to rest in Morgan City Cemetery.
