Ruth Aucoin

Ruth J. Aucoin, born May 29, 1947 a lifelong resident of Amelia and a native of Morgan City, passed away October 1, 2007 at Teche Regional Medical Center. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 42 wonderful years, Douglas J. Aucoin of Amelia, four children; Mark Aucoin and his wife Julie of Morgan City, Lisa and her husband Henry Swiber III of Morgan City, Derick Aucoin and his wife Jodi of Amelia County, VA, Jude Aucoin and his fiancé Colinda Remedies of Amelia. Ruth is also survived by her mother Joan Breaux of Amelia, one brother Alan Breaux Sr. and his wife Barbara of Morgan City and by her two sisters; Judy Pennison and her husband “Sonny” of Oxbow, Maine and Lynn Pierron of Morgan City. Affectionately, she was called Maw Maw by 14 grandchildren and Nanny Ruth by a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her father Lynwood Breaux, her sister and brother-in-law Theresa and Perry Williams, one niece Danielle Pennison and one nephew Vince Pennison and her grandparents. Visitation will be observed Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at Twin City Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Visitation will resume Thursday, October 4, 2007 from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 4, 2007 at Twin City Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest in the Saint Andrew Cemetery in Amelia.
