O.B. Vonzo Watson, 79, a resident of Patterson passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Teche Regional Medical Center.
O.B. was born on October 30, 1932 in Marshall, Texas the son of Richard and Ila Nowlin Watson.
He was known to many as a joker and prankster and also as a jack of all trades fixing whatever needed to be fixed. He enjoyed working with his hands and especially had a passion for wood working. O.B. loved to travel in his later years and also loved spending time with his family as he had a huge heart for God and his family. He served his country proudly as a member of the United States Navy serving during the Korean Conflict.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by three daughters, Derinda Cantrell and husband Michael of Dandridge, Tenn., Charlene Tholen and husband John of Berwick, Darlene Hughes and husband John of Patterson; three sons, Frank Maddix and wife Lea of Stephensville, William "Billy" Boswell, Jr. and wife Paula of San Antonio, Texas, Walter B. Boswell and wife Debbie of Patterson. Also surviving are twenty grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; one sister, Ruth Scardino and husband Andrew of Richards, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ila Nowlin Watson and Richard Watson; wife, Rovena Watson; two sons, James Adkins and Richard Watson; one sister, Juanita Volker; and six brothers.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 8, 2012 at Twin City Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the services on Friday at the funeral home. O.B. will be laid to rest in Ibert's Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad.
