Emis “Buddy” Vice Jr., 67, a lifelong resident of Morgan City, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2007 at Terrebonne General Medical Center. Emis is the son of Beulah Duval Bodie and the late Emis Vice Sr. Emis had a great love for his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Emis enjoyed working on boats and would strike up a good conversation about engines with any mechanic. Emis was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to LSU and the Saints; he was a good cook as well, beans & rice, spaghetti and Bar-B-Que. He enjoyed playing cards and was a good conversationalist that never met a stranger. Emis was a prankster, especially with his children and he was a generous man.
Emis is survived by his wife, Betty McNally Vice of Morgan City, his mother, Beulah Bodie of Boyce, La., two sons; Louis J. Vice and his wife Teresa of Masa, Az., Troy F. Vice and his wife Evette of Chackbay, La., two daughters; Christine Vice Ganaway and her husband Mark of Patterson, Stacey Vice Shelton and her husband Charles of Morgan City, three brothers; Albert R. Vice of Boyce, La., John E. Vice and his wife Patricia of Bayou L’Ourse, Eddie R. Vice of Bayou Vista, four sisters; Laura V. Boyette of Pineville, La., Rose Marie V. Price and her husband Wybra of Morgan City, Rita Mae Vice of Alexandria, La. and Trudy V. Hebert and her husband Floyd of Alexandria, La. Seven grandchildren; Alison, Jennifer, Toni, Randi, Elizabeth, Tyler, Cameron and one great-grandchild, Dillion, also survive Emis.
Emis is preceded in death by his father, Emis Louis Vice Sr.
The family will receive friends, Monday, October 8, 2007 at Twin City Funeral Home from 6pm until 9pm, the visitation will resume Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at Twin City Funeral Home from 9am until 10am. The funeral service will commence at 10am at Twin City Funeral Home. Emis will be laid to rest in Morgan City Cemetery.
