Albert Johnson Jr., 84, a native of Cecilia, LA and a resident of Morgan City passed away surrounded by his family at Morgan City Health Care on Monday, August 27, 2012. He was a decorated Army Veteran of the Korean War and he also served in the Merchant Marines at the end of World War II.
Albert is survived by his wife, Theresa Johnson of Morgan City; two sons: David Johnson and wife, Hope of Berwick and Michael Johnson and wife, Bobbie Jo of New Orleans; two grandchildren: Mallory Fuhrer and husband, Cory of Berwick and Paige Johnson of Berwick; one great grandchild, Blakely Fuhrer of Berwick along with one sister, Sybil Barrilleaux of New Iberia.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Antoinette Johnson Sr. and two sons: Byron Stephen and Glenn Roland Johnson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 31, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church beginning at 8am until 10am with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10am. Albert will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad.
