Darleen Scully Gilmore

Darleen Scully Gilmore 60, a resident of Morgan City passed away Monday, August 27, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. Darleen was born on July 11, 1952 in Monroe, Louisiana the daughter of Walter David and Sarah Joe Stout Smith. Darleen loved to sew and bake cakes and also enjoyed spending time on the computer playing online games. She loved spending time with her family but especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Eldred C. Gilmore of Morgan City; one son, Shawn Scully and wife Tina of Morgan City; four grandchildren, Destinie Scully, Austyn Scully, Ethan Scully and Jonathon Scully all of Morgan City; three sisters, Debbie Pennison and husband Chris of Morgan City, Angela Steno and husband Carrol of Morgan City, Theresa Foushee and husband Kenneth of Alexandria, Louisiana; two brothers, David Smith of West Monroe, Louisiana, Kenneth Smith of Farmerville, Louisiana. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Darleen was preceded in death by her parents Walter David Smith and Sarah Joe Stout Smith. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Twin City Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, August 31, 2012 at Twin City Funeral Home. Visitation will resume from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Darleen will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
