Lawrence Hotard, Jr. 90, a resident of Bayou Vista passed away Monday, September 17, 2012 at his home.
Lawrence was born on December 14, 1921 in Berwick the son of Lawrence Hotard Sr. and Christine Ratcliff Hotard.
He had a love for cooking and gardening. In his younger days he loved to hunt, fish, and shrimp. He loved spending time with his family and also loved to travel with his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Haag Hotard who preceded him in death. He served his country proudly by enlisting in the United States Navy and served during WWII. He will be missed by his loyal companion of 16 years, his dog Rascal.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by three sons, James Larry Hotard, Sr. and wife Norma, Randall Glenn Hotard and wife Sandra, Gerald Hotard and wife Patty, all of Bayou Vista; six grandchildren, James Hotard, Jr. and wife Renee, Shaunda Billiot and husband Troy, Christi Hotard and companion Santo Spitale, Traci Hotard and companion Byron Mancuso, all of Bayou Vista, Brandon Hotard and wife Jamie of Berwick, Dustin Hotard of Broussard; eleven great-grandchildren, D.J. Anslem and his wife, Brooke, Seth Anslem, Alexis Anslem, Brooke Hotard, Brittany Hotard, Camron Case, Carson LeBlanc, Kylie Henson, Rayne Hotard and Miley Hotard. He is also survived by four sisters, Delores Hotard, Myrna Hotard Liner, Mercedes Hotard Roy, Kimmie Hotard Geisinger; one brother, Guy Hotard; one sister-in-law Minnie Hotard.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Hotard, Sr. and Christine Ratcliff Hotard; wife, Dorothy Haag Hotard; four brothers, Theo Hotard, Sr., Darrel Hotard, Howard Hotard, Larry Hotard, Sr.; two sisters, Dorice Hotard Yuratich, Timmie Hotard DeLaup.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Twin City Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Porter officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Lawrence will be laid to rest in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Patterson.
