Jerrin Jerome Bourgeois, 81, a lifelong resident of Morgan City, passed away Monday, October 9, 2012 at Patterson Health Care.
Jerrin was born on February 17, 1931 in Morgan City the son of Abel Bourgeois and Marie Hernandez.
Jerrin is best known as "Bourgeois the Clown". He brought so many smiles to young and old over the years. Many remember him escorting the Mardi Gras Parades, making balloon animals, visiting children in the hospital, putting on shows at the library and working at the Lake Cinema Theater. Bourgeois the Clown is iconic as the shrimp boat on Brashear Blvd. We will always remember "Bourgeois the Clown" and never forget the wonderful, caring and happy person he was.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his son, John "Toby" Bourgeois of Morgan City; two grandchildren, Jessica Bourgeois and Ricky Dupre Jr. and wife, Sharon of Morgan City; as well as , one sister, Mary Ann Fontenot of Kinder, LA along with one great granddaughter, Brooklyn Dupre.
Jerrin was preceded in death by his parents, Abel Bourgeois and Marie Hernandez Bourgeois; one son, James Bourgeois; one great-granddaughter, Lexi Dupre
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Twin City Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Twin City Funeral Home with a rosary being prayed at 7pm. Visitation will resume from 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 11, 2012 until the time of service at 10:00a.m. He will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
