Gregory Lynn Ganaway, a native and resident of Morgan City, La., passed away at Teche Regional Medical Center on Saturday, December 15, 2007. He was 52 years old. “Greg” as he was known by everyone was a very open, generous and loving person. He was a good, honest, and upright individual, a man of his word. Greg is survived by his wife, Verna Helman Ganaway, two sons, Gregory Lynn Ganaway Jr., and Gary Jacob Ganaway, and one daughter, Gracey Kay Ganaway. He is also Survived by his father and mother, George and Omicle Meaux Ganaway, his brothers George Wayne Ganaway and David Lee Ganaway, both of Bayou Vista, his godmother, Silver Mae Picou of Morgan City, his cousin and partner, Louis Ganaway and his wife Joan, of Bayou Vista, and his father-in-law and mother in law, Leroy and Mary Helman of Gainesville, Ga. Visitation was held on Sunday, December 16, 2007, from 6 pm until 9 p m, and again on Monday December 17, 2007, from 10 a m until 2 p m. with funeral service at 2 p m., and burial was in the Morgan City Cemetery.
