Shelley LaCoste Lodrigue, 63, a resident of Amelia, passed away Monday, October 22, 2012 at Terrebonne General Hospital. Shelley was born on October 13, 1949 in Morgan City the daughter of Murphy and Verlin Rulf LaCoste. She was a member of the St. Mary AARP, American Legion Post 96, Morgan City Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary. Shelley loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed taking her nieces and nephews on vacation with her. She also enjoyed going with the VFW to the Veterans War Home in Jackson, MS to visit the veterans. Shelley was the cafeteria manager for over 30 years spending time at J.S. Aucoin Elementary, Morgan City High School, and Berwick High School, she enjoyed all the children over the years. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two children, Kristie Sistrunk and husband Bradley of Morgan City, Kevin Lodrigue of Amelia; mother, Verlin LaCoste of Morgan City; two grandchildren, Cora Reed and Keegan Lodrigue both of Morgan City; two step grandchildren, Seth and Noah Sistrunk of Panama City, Florida; brother, Murphy LaCoste Jr. and wife Julie of Morgan City; two nephews and one niece, Jared LaCoste, Jason LaCoste, Lauren Billiot all of Morgan City. She was preceded in death by her father, Murphy LaCoste, Sr., husband, Robert Lodrigue Jr.; one son, Robert Murphy Lodrigue; grandparents, Gustave and Louise Rulf as well as Dennis and Rosella LaCoste. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 26, 2012 at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Twin City Funeral Home with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume from 8:00 a.m. until the time of mass on Friday at Holy Cross. Shelley will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
