Joan Breaux, 82, a resident of Amelia and a native of Dunkinfield, England, passed away, Thursday, December 27, 2007 at Teche Regional Medical Center. Joan was a member of AARP, Daughters of the British Empire and was in the Women’s Royal Airforce during WWII. Joan, “Aunt Joan” to all her friends and family liked to travel, especially to Georgia, California and England. She enjoyed family gatherings and the simple things in life, like her Pokeno and Birthday groups. Joan was a loving and giving women and was especially proud of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Joan is survived by one son; Alan A. Breaux and his wife Barbara of Morgan City, two daughters, Judy Pennison and her husband Egbert “Sonny” Pennison of Oxbow, Maine, Lynne Pierron of Amelia, one brother Trevor Cooper and his wife “Dee” of Salinas, CA., one sister, Rowena Cooper of Twainharte, CA., one sister-in-law, Georgia Cooper of San Jose, CA and one son-in-law, Douglas Aucoin of Amelia. Thirteen Grandchildren, Thirty-two great-grandchildren and two great great grandchildren also survive her.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Lynwood Andrew Breaux, two daughters, Ruth Aucoin and Theresa Williams, her parents, Harry and Eva Adams Cooper, two grandchildren, Danielle and Vince Pennison, one brother Gordon Cooper, one sister Vera Kalenchuk and one son-in-law, Perry Williams.
The family will receive friends, Saturday, December 29, 2007 at Twin City Funeral Home from 6pm until 9pm. Funeral services will begin at 8pm Saturday, December 29, 2007 at Twin City Funeral Home.
