Delmas Leon Dardar, 85, a resident of Morgan City and a native of Berwick, passed away, Saturday, December 29, 2007 at Lafayette General Hospital. Delmas was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, who loved spoiling his grandchildren. Delmas loved music, he played the guitar and was an avid fan of Chet Atkins. In his early years he played with the “Twin City Ramblers”, Delmas taught many young relatives how to play music. Delmas enjoyed the ability to work most of his life, he was a happy go lucky man. Delmas always said, “I’m in good shape for the shape I’m in” and he never met a stranger.
Delmas is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lucille Crappell Dardar of Morgan City, two sons, Michael Leon Dardar of Houston TX., David Charles Dardar and his wife Rachel of Morgan City, three grandchildren, Melanie Harding, Michael Dardar II, Stephan Dardar, three great-grandchildren, Kimberly and Kenneth Scott and Abigail Harding.
Delmas was preceded in death by his parents, Delmas and Pauline Dardar, three brothers, Michel, Levy and Horace Dardar, three sisters, Ophelia Verdin, Delia Verdin and Nora Williams.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at Twin City Funeral Home from 6pm until 9pm. Resuming Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Twin City Funeral Home from 9am until 11am. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Twin City Funeral Home at 11am. Delmas will be laid to rest in Morgan City Cemetery.
