Wilson Legendre, 86, a resident of Morgan City and of native of Raceland, passed away Monday, January 7, 2008 at Teche Regional Medical Center. Wilson was a good-hearted man who never met a stranger and was always smiling. Wilson liked music and dancing. He loved his children and grandchildren, his family was always first. Wilson was proud to have served his country in WWII in the United States Marine Corps.
Wilson is survived by three daughters, Brenda Vidos of Morgan City, Bridgette Patin and her husband Wayne of Colorado Springs, April Metrejean and her husband Bernie of Morgan City, one step son, Steve Hebert and his wife Ginger of Stephensville. Seven grandchildren, Keith Vidos, Karyn Verret, Jaci Alfred, Stefanie Hebert, Kaleb Matherne, Ian Patton, Emily Metrjean, three great-grandchildren, Brendan Keller, Keanon Vidos and Julian Vidos also survive him.
Wilson is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Sue Howell Legendre, one son, Bryan Legendre, his parents, Wallace and Albertine Defrene Legendre, eight brothers, Author, Herbert, Alvin, Benny, Roy, Archie, Jessie, Wilben and three sisters, Maggie, Evelyn and Lillian.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at Twin City Funeral Home from 6pm until 9pm, resuming Thursday, Janurary 10, 2008 from 9am until 11am. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 10, 2008 at Twin City Funeral Home at 11am. Wilson will be laid to rest in Morgan City Cemetery with the East ST. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad conducting Military Graveside Honors.
