Wilbert Alvin Lange

Wilbert Alvin Lange, 79, a native of Hog Island and a resident of Berwick passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Teche Regional Medical Center surrounded by his devoted family.
Wilbert founded Lange Towing in 1967 and spent most of his life on the water and was a very accomplished man in his life. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was a devoted husband and father to them. He worked hard and instilled strong family values in his two sons and daughter. He taught them never to take anything for granted and to earn what you want in life. Wilbert was the center and strength of his family. His grandchildren held a very special place in his heart along with his great grandchildren. Wilbert was loved and admired by all who knew him and he will be lovingly in missed.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carrie Paray Lange of Berwick; two sons: George Lange and wife, Daisy of Berwick and Bud Lange and wife, Debra of Calumet; one daughter, Josie Lombas and husband, Lawrence of Berwick; nine grandchildren: Lawrence Jr., Melissa, Melinda, Kelly Sue, Kim, George Jr., Tiann, Buddy and Tana; 21 great grandchildren and one on the way; one great great-grandchild; one sister, Lou Ellen Bogan and husband, Ken of Centerville along with a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Mae Clausen Lange and his father and mother-in-law, Charles and Alice Paray.
The family would like to express their special thanks to Dr. Timothy and his nurses at CIS of Thibodaux for giving the greatest professional care and compassion. Also another special thanks to Dr. Solet and Michael Couvillon of CIS of Morgan City who took care of him while he was in ICU at Teche Regional Medical Center with such great compassion. You all will hold a very special place in the family's hearts.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Twin City Funeral Home beginning at 9am until 11am with a service beginning at 11am. He will be entombed in the Morgan City Mausoleum following the service.
