Irma Marie Fangue, 94, a resident of Opelousas and former resident of Morgan City passed away Friday, December 28, 2012 at Heritage Manor in Opelousas.
Irma was born on August 15, 1918 in Donaldsonville the daughter of Emile and Matilda Stephens Verrett.
Irma loved spending time with her family, but especially her grandchildren. She loved to be in the outdoors especially when she was going to the camp to go fishing. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and loved refinishing furniture.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by four children, Janet Coleman of Lafayette, Kenneth Fangue and wife Audrey of Hempstead, Texas, Karen Carte and husband Darryl of New Iberia, Neal Fangue and wife Linda of Bush; nine grandsons; four granddaughters; thirteen great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Emile Verrett and Matilda Stephens Verrett; husband, Albert Paul Fangue; grandson, Troy Vincent Fangue; two brothers, four sisters; numerous other relatives.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass on Wednesday at the church. Entombment will take place in Morgan City Mausoleum following mass.
