Louis J. Aucoin Sr.

Louis J. Aucoin Sr., 76, a resident of Belle River passed away Monday, February 18, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Louis was born on March 29, 1936 in Four Mile Bayou the son of Felix Aucoin and Emma Gros Aucoin. He enjoyed fishing and playing bingo but his greatest love in life was spending time with his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Linda Rediess Aucoin of Belle River; three children, Louis "LJ" Aucoin Jr. and wife Rosalie of Stephensville, Belinda Mac McGuigan and husband Brian of Belle River;, Melonia Gros of Labadieville; six grandchildren, Christine Aucoin of Belle River, Jay Pierre Aucoin of Stephensville, Chad Boudreaux of Belle River, Brian McGuigan of North Carolina, Crystal Doiron of Houma, Charles “C.J.” Gros of Labadieville; six great-grandchildren, Zeth Aucoin, Zach Aucoin, Luke Boudreaux, Andrew Boudreaux, Matthew Boudreaux, Ireland McGuigan. He is also survived by four brothers, James “T-Jim” Aucoin, John Aucoin, William Aucoin, Evert Aucoin, Lloyd Aucoin; one sister, Mildred Jones; numerous nieces and nephews. Louis was preceded in death by his parents Felix Aucoin and Emma Gros Aucoin; one brother, Pierre Aucoin; one sister, Elva Rock; one nephew Larry Aucoin. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Twin City Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society, 1604 Louisiana 182 Lafayette, LA 70508 or the family asks that a mass be said in his name.
