Elizabeth “Liz” Giroir LaJaunie, 76, a resident of Morgan City, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at her residence. Elizabeth was a devout Catholic who looked forward to her Sunday visits. She loved to care for others. Those close to her considered her a loving, caring and devoted caregiver. She looked forward to family gatherings when she was the primary cook. She is known as a very talented craftswoman. She knitted, sewed, crocheted, and quilted things for loved ones. Her grandchildren were held in high importance. She enjoyed spending time with all of her daughters. Two of her favorite things to do were to fish and garden. Her pride and joy was Honey, her pet Maltese dog. She is survived by her three daughters; Adele L. Hartman and her husband, Russell J. Hartman of Morgan City, Nettie L. Silva and her husband, Daniel Silva of San Diego , CA and Paula L. Visor and her husband, John Visor of Marrero, LA, and her beloved pet, Honey, her three brothers; Thomas Giroir of Pierre Part, Larry Foret of Morgan City and Raleigh Aucoin of Abbeville, her sister, Lovlin Leonard of Belle River. She is also survived by her six grandchildren; Damien Hartman and his wife, Jennifer Salley Hartman of Morgan City, Jeremy Hartman and his wife, Joy Crochet Hartman of Morgan City, Colby Hartman of Morgan City, Noel Visor of Marrero, LA., Tiffany Visor of Houma, and Daniel P. Silva of San Diego, CA., her three great-grandchildren; Brian Hartman, Elizabeth Hartman, and Olivia Hartman all of Morgan City; her special friends; Gladys Lebouf, Barbara Ghiradi, Yvonne Zwegille. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. LaJaunie, her daughter, Cynthia LaJuanie, her mother and father, Virginia Giroir and Florentine Giroir Sr., her sisters; Florence LaCoste, Annie Perez and Laura Gros; her brothers, Charles Giroir, Florentine Giroir Jr., Harry Giroir, Anthony Giroir, Joseph Giroir and their faithful dog, Butch. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Twin City Funeral Home, Thursday, March 6, 2008. Visitation will resume Friday, March 7, 2008 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at Sacred Heart at 10:00 a.m. and will be officiated by Father Greg Fratt. She will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum.
