Lennis Joseph Simoneaux Sr.

Lennis Joseph Simoneaux Sr., 90, a resident of Morgan City and a native of Belle River, passed away, Sunday March 9, 2008. Lennis Sr. was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church; he was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus and a past Grand Knight. Lennis is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Estellina Pierce Simoneaux of Morgan City, two sons, Lennis J. Simoneaux Jr. and his wife Julie of Morgan City, Dr. John C. Simoneaux and his wife Gayle of Pineville, LA, two daughters, Mary Lynne Verrett and her husband Jimmy of Morgan City, Kay Hayes of Woodland Park, CO., three sisters, Girdy S. Thibodeaux of Morgan City, Thelma M. Robicheaux of Morgan City, Hazel M. Fangue of Bayou Vista. Lennis Sr. is also survived by seven grandchildren, Jimmy Verrett and his wife Tracy of Marina Del Ray, CA., Corey J. Verrett of Opelousas, Shelly Vahsholtz and her husband Clint of Woodland Park, CO., Glenn Hayes and his wife Jennifer of Cannon City, CO., Ryan Hayes and his wife Angie of Parker, CO., Steven Simoneaux and his wife Nancy of Gonzales, Byron Simoneaux and his wife Milka of Ruston and eight great-grandchildren. Lennis Sr. is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Laurentia Percle Simoneaux, four sisters, Una Mayon, Beulah Simoneaux, Mabel S. Scully and Emma Sauce. Visitation will be held, Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church from 8am until 10am. A Mass of Christian Burial will commence at 10am with Father Greg Fratt officiating. Lennis Sr. will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum.
