Charles Parker LaCoste Sr.

Charles Parker LaCoste Sr., 78, a resident of Berwick and a native of Morgan City, passed away, Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at his residence. Charlie loved the water and outdoors, he enjoyed fishing and trapping when he was younger. Charlie was a jokester and the life of the party, he especially enjoyed family gatherings, seafood boils, barbecue’s and some of his favorites (Pork roasts, Gumbo and rice dressing). Charlie enjoyed country music, especially Johnny Cash (Walk the Line). Charlie was a member of the St. Mary AARP. Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Verna Vining LaCoste of Berwick, three sons, Jared LaCoste Sr. and his wife Sherry of Patterson, Charlie LaCoste Jr and his wife Leslie of Patterson, David LaCoste Sr. and his wife Gloria of Patterson, three daughters, Veronica L. Scully and her husband John Jr. of Broussard,Nancy L. Posten of Berwick, Melinda L. Mahfouz and her husband Joseph of Centerville; four sisters, Josie L. Folse of Berwick, Mary Ellen Driskill of Berwick, Flora Mae L. Landry of Patterson and Juanita L. Foret of Stephensville; and two brother-in-laws, Floyd Vining and Jerry Mire Jr. His 21 loving grandchildren and loving 16 great-grandchildren also survive him. He was preceded in death by his mother Annie Miller LaCoste and father Monroe LaCoste Sr., and three brothers, Monroe LaCoste Jr., Ira LaCoste and Jerry LaCoste and his two sisters, Marjorie L. Ratcliff and Ella Rita L. Yokum. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 13, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Twin City Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Friday March 14, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 14, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in the Berwick Cemetery.
