J.C. Stokley

J.C. Stokley, 82, a resident of Bayou Vista passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Patterson Healthcare Center. J.C. was born on October 31, 1930 in Silas, Alabama the son of Claude Alman Stokley and Nellie Jackson Stokley. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed being in the outdoors tending to his garden, fishing, or hunting. He was an avid fan of Alabama Crimson Tide Football and classic country music especially Hank Williams, Sr. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two children, Anthony Stokely and Sheila Blanchard and husband George A. Blanchard all of Bayou Vista; four grandchildren, Brittany Price, Brennan Blanchard, Brooke Blanchard, Bethany Blanchard all of Bayou Vista; one great-grandson, Carsyn Price of Bayou Vista. J.C. was preceded in death by his parents Claude Alman and Nellie Jackson Stokley; wife, Anita Stokley; one brother, Gordon Stokley; two sisters, Newana Gilbert and Katie Rackley. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 6, 2013 at Twin City Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home. J.C. will be laid to rest in Morgan City Cemetery.
