Carroll LaFleur Sr., 58, a resident of Berwick and a native of Ville Platte, LA, passed away Friday, April 11, 2008 at his daughter’s home. Carroll was the son of John and Mary Jane Deville LaFleur.
He loved and cherished his family and friends very much and was very proud of each and every one of his grandchildren. He loved cooking and spending time with his family. Carroll was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He had a green thumb for planting and growing a garden in his backyard. Carroll was an Appliance Service man by trade. He was the owner of LaFleur’s Appliance Repair for many years and worked for Today T.V. and Appliance in Morgan City. He enjoyed playing cards, watching horse races and football. He was a big San Francisco 49ers fan and like many others he enjoyed watching the New Orleans Saints and LSU football.
He is survived by his wife of forty-one years Geraldine Jagneaux LaFleur, one son Carroll LaFleur Jr. and his wife Jennifer, three daughters JoAnn Fryou and her husband Joseph “Joby” Sr., Judy Giroir and her husband Randy Sr., Melinda Burton and her husband Richard all of Berwick, LA. He is also survived by one sister Diana Dinger and her husband Marvin of Patterson, LA., and one Uncle John Deville and his wife Mary of Waggaman, LA.
His grandchildren include, Joseph “Joby” Fryou Jr., Ryan Fryou, Randy Giroir Jr., Thomas “T-Tom” Giroir, Connie Giroir, Brittany Ballance Kyle and her husband Justin Kyle of Mobile, AL., Carley Ballance, Kristian Ballance, Courtney Burton, Emma LaFleur, Paul “PJ” Fulmer and Alexis Ross, his godchildren Lockwood “Locky” Bonin III and his wife Nicole of Centerville, LA., and Farrell Glen LaFleur Jr. and his wife Cathy of Ponchatoula, LA. one nephew Jason Dinger and his wife Donna of Morgan City, LA., three nieces Tammy Landry and her husband Mitchell of Tomball, TX., Debra Batty and her husband Christopher of Denham Springs, LA., and Dawn Foster and her husband Dale of Atlanta, GA., four great nieces Emma Bonin, Halli Landry, Jenna LaFleur and Gabby Dinger, and eight great nephews Hayden Landry, Brock Batty, Brennan Batty, Brant Batty, Dawson LaFleur, Ty Carter, Alex Foster, and Brian Dinger.
He joined his parents, John and Mary LaFleur, maternal grandparents, Gustave and Melinda Deville, his brother Joseph Farrell Glen LaFleur and one niece Trisha Bonin, in his eternal resting place in Heaven.
The family will receive friends Monday, April 14, 2008 at Twin City Funeral Home from 6pm until 10pm, resuming, Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at Twin City Funeral Home from 9am until 2pm. Funeral services will commence at 2pm. Carroll will be laid to rest in Morgan City Cemetery.
