Lenola Mire

July 21, 1926 — April 30, 2008

Lenola “Nola” Giroir Mire, 81, a resident of Patterson and a native of Bayou L’Ourse, passed away, Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at Teche Regional Medical Center. Nola loved to read her Bible and was a prayer warrior. Nola was a very special lady, she put other peoples need before her own, if someone needed her all they had to do was ask. Nola is survived by one son Melvin Mire and his wife Mona of Thibodaux, three daughters; Lisa Fontenot and her husband Ronald of Patterson, Nancy Breaux and her husband Whiley of Berwick and Shirley Millet of Morgan City, two sisters; Linda Tisdale of Amelia and Lydia Broussard of Whitney, TX. 7 grandchildren, Melissa, Jamie, Bruce “Bubba”, Francis, Dorothy “Dodie”, Melvin “LiL Mel”, John and 5 great-grandchildren, Lauren, Tatiana, Dayanera, Joshua John and Duncan also survive Nola. Nola was preceded in death by her husband, John Mire Sr., one son John “Butch” Mire Jr., one daughter, Alice Mire, one grandson, Ronald Fontenot Jr., one brother, Luke Giroir, 4 sisters, Lucille Vining, Louise Pellissier, Lena Landry and Lela “Mazie” Champagne. Visitation will be held Friday, May 2, 2008 at Twin City Funeral Home from 6pm until 9pm. The visitation will resume Saturday, May 3, 2008 at Twin City Funeral Home from 9am until 2pm. The funeral service will commence at 2pm. Nola will be laid to rest in Morgan City Cemetery.
