Ronald Anthony Grizzaffi, Sr., a resident of Morgan City, passed away Friday, November 1, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. He was 73. He was a man that never met a stranger and could always put a smile on anyone’s face. Ronald lived for his family and friends. He sat on his front porch everyday waving to every individual whether they were walking or driving by. He was one of a kind that was loved dearly and lived life to the fullest.
Ronald was born November 5, 1939 in Morgan City. He was the son of Frank Sr. and Alice (Randall) Grizzaffi.
Ronald loved listening to the KQKI Trading Post every morning. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 1373. He enjoyed racing his boats and was a member of the American Power Boat Association.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Earline T. Grizzaffi, and his three children Ronald Grizzaffi Jr., Gina Clements and husband Mark, and Dean Grizzaffi and wife Michele. He had nine grandchildren, Zachary Grizzaffi and fiancé Brittany, Bryce and Mia Grizzaffi, Dex Clements, Devin Clements and wife Erica, Alexandra Clements, Joshua, Peyton, and
Gabrielle Grizzaffi. He had three great-grandchildren Jayce Grizzaffi, Jax and Ava Clements.
He is also survived by three brothers and a sister, Abbie Grizzaffi and wife Yvonne, Leo Grizzaffi and wife Tina, Frank Grizzaffi Jr. and wife Janice, and Belva G. Myers and husband J.D. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents Frank Grizzaffi Sr. and Alice, sister and brother-in-law Alice G. and Jerry Vial, father-in-law and mother-in-law Abel and Marie A. Tourera, and step-daughter Belinda Marie Rogers.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Sacred Heart Church. Visitation for family will be from 8 to 9 a.m. Public services will resume from 9 a.m. until Mass time at 11 a.m. Entombment will follow Mass in Morgan City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dex Clements, Zachary Grizzaffi, Devin Clements, Joshua Grizzaffi, godchildren Randy Jett and Jamie Paul Wiggins. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bryce Grizzaffi and Peyton Grizzaffi.
