Gwen Elizabeth Fromenthal, 53, a lifelong resident of Morgan City. passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Gwen was born on August 30, 1960 in Morgan City the daughter of Logan Fromenthal Sr. and Irene Templet Fromenthal.
Gwen loved spending time with her family, especially her mother and best friend Irene and special friend Raquel Jones. Wherever Gwen went in life, her mother was right there with her every step of the way. Wherever Gwen would go she never met a stranger and she loved everyone. She was very active in the Special Olympics in Baton Rouge at LSU, where she won gold medals in several events. She enjoyed going to the Center of Hope School and also enjoyed bowling. She loved music, dancing, and loved watching the Lawrence Welk Show.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her mother, Irene Templet Fromenthal of Morgan City; one sister, Sandra Cox of Lafayette; three brothers, Logan Fromenthal Jr. and wife Susan, Rodney Fromenthal and wife Marie, Dale Fromenthal all of Morgan City. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Gwen was preceded in death by her father, Logan Fromenthal Sr.; grandparents, Norbert and Elise Templet and William and Ophelia Fromenthal.
The family would like to thank Dr. William Cefalu Jr., Father Danny Poche, and Gwen's caregivers.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father Danny Poche officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, January 10, 2014 at Twin City Funeral Home with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass on Saturday at Holy Cross Church. Gwen will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery following Mass.
