Norman Henry Breaux Jr., 59, born in New Orleans and a life-long resident of Morgan City, died Thursday, June 19, 2008 at his residence in Morgan City. Mr. Breaux was an active member of the Morgan City community for many years. Mr. Breaux generously served in numerous business and volunteer endeavors throughout his lifetime. He filled numerous positions on the Board of Directors of the St. Mary Chamber of Commerce including his most recent service on the Chamber’s Scholarship Committee. Mr. Breaux was instrumental with the donation of his time and service in transition periods during the Chamber’s consolidation of its west/east entities and staff changes. In addition, Mr. Breaux was one of the founding partners of BNA Marine of Morgan City, he served as a former member of the Board of Directors of First National Bank which included service on the bank’s Board of Directors following its merger with Whitney National Bank. Mr. Breaux was a founding member of both the Basin Investment Club and the Atchafalaya Investment Club. His professional life also included local and international work with Conrad Industries, where he served for many years as a project manager and estimator, and Raymond Fabricators, where he began his career as a draftsman. Mr. Breaux was a former member and long-time supporter of the Boy Scouts of America and a life-long hunting and fishing enthusiast. He is survived by his mother, Shirley Hebert Breaux; one son, Jacob Breaux and his wife Jennifer Martin Breaux; one daughter, Leslie Breaux Moore and her husband Robert; four granddaughters, Alexandra Breaux, Cameron Breaux, Hadley Moore and Gracie Moore; two brothers, Stephen L. Breaux and his wife Sharon; Dale Breaux and his wife Sherry and seven sisters; Claire Kendrick, Gail Breaux, Aline Breaux, Mary Lynn Dahnke and her husband Michael, Judy Owens and her husband Joe, Adriene Ratcliff and her husband J.C. and Edna Quirk. In addition, Mr. Breaux is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Norman H. Breaux Sr. Visitation will be held Monday, June 23, 2008 at Holy Cross Catholic Church from 9am until 10am. A Mass of Christian Burial will commence at 10am. Mr. Breaux will be laid to rest in Morgan City Cemetery.
