Richard D. Thibodeaux Sr.

Richard D. Thibodeaux Sr., 67, a resident of Patterson passed away Monday, January 27, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Richard was born on October 30, 1946 in New Iberia the son of Russell and Olivia Guidry Thibodeaux. Richard was a wonderful husband and father and loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed listening to music and dancing as well as going bowling with his grandchildren. He loved Barbequing and cooking for his family. He enjoyed being outdoors and taking trips down the bayou. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Jenny Johnson Thibodeaux of Patterson; one daughter, Teasha Thibodeaux of Morgan City; one son, Jarield Francis of Gonzales; two step children, Sherell Giroir and husband Matthew of Patterson and Barry Johnson of Lafayette; eight grandchildren, Amber Francis, Alexis Francis, John Francis, Isaiah Rowland, Gordon Zachary Hill, Joshua Hill, Adam Giroir, Alaina Giroir. Richard is also survived by three sisters, Dale Waters, Bonnie Boudreaux and husband Dean, Jeannine Montgomery and husband James; one sister-in-law, Bridget Thibodeaux; one brother-in-law, T-Boy Sampey. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Richard "Thib" Thibodeaux, Jr.; one brother, Karey Thibodeaux, one sister, Jackie Sampey; one brother-in-law, Bobby Waters; former spouse, Annette Newell Thibodeaux. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 31, 2014 at Twin City Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Twin City Funeral Home. Visitation will resume from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service on Friday at the funeral home. Richard will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
