Vera Mae Rink DeHart

Vera Mae Rink DeHart, 87, a native of Bayou Shaffer and a resident of Bayou Vista passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Patterson Health Care.
Vera was a long time member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church of Bayou Vista and a member of The Lady's Altar Society in Patterson. Her love of God was at the center of her being along with her family. She enjoyed attending the Adoration of the Holy Eucharistic and being an active member of the Come Lord Jesus Group for 2 years. Vera loved helping and visiting the elderly at the local nursing home. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Vera is survived by her son, Avery Wayne DeHart and wife, Regina of Bayou Vista; two daughters: Patricia Lydia Estilette and husband, Linwood of New Iberia and Phyllis Sue Romero and husband, Frederick of New Iberia; one daughter-n-law, Giulia DeHart of Bayou Vista along with nine grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Avery DeHart; her parents, Frank and Mary Rink; two sisters: Lela Lombes and Lizetta LaCoste; one brother, Eddie Rink; one son, Malcom DeHart and one grandson, Michelle DeHart.
Visitation will begin on Monday, March 3, 2014 at the St. Bernadette Church Hall beginning at 5pm until 10pm and resume on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at the church hall starting at 9am until 2:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 3pm in the church. She will be laid to rest in the Berwick Mausoleum following mass.
