Travis Olen Haney Sr.

Travis Olen Haney Sr., 74, a resident of Thibodaux passed away Saturday, May 3, 2014. Travis was born on September 19, 1939 in Alcorn County, Mississippi the son of William and Edna Williams Haney. Travis enjoyed fishing and shrimping as well as taking apart engines and putting them back together. He graduated with a technical degree in welding from Port Sulphur. Travis was very athletic and played baseball and football in his younger years playing until he was 40 years old. He will be sadly missed and loving remembered by his wife of 39 years, Cathy Lawrence Haney of Thibodaux; five sons, Sonny Haney of Houma, Robin Haney of Labadieville, Travis O. Haney Jr. of Lake Charles, Olen Haney of Texas, Hank Haney of Colorado; nine grandchildren; one brother, Charles Haney Sr. of Walker. Travis was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Terry Haney Sr.; two sisters, Shelby Baggnet and Dottie Patin. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2014 at Victory Life Church, 1200 Crescent Ave. Lockport, LA 70374. A short visitation will take place from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the church.
