Joyce Russell

Joyce Breaux Russell, 74, a life long resident of Morgan City, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2008 after a brief battle with cancer. Joyce graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1952; she was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a long time member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed sewing, crafts and baking. Joyce will always be remembered as a loving mother and devoted grandmother. Joyce is survived by her husband, Jack Russell of Morgan City, one daughter, Melanie Russell Galliano and her husband Clint of Bayou Blue; two granddaughters, Valerie Galliano and Veronica Galliano; two sisters, Marian B. Jones of Morgan City and Norma B. Kindem of Patterson. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Edith Breaux, and one brother, Joseph E. Breaux. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at Twin City Funeral Home from 6pm until 9pm. The visitation will continue at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Wednesday, August 6, 2008 from 9am until 11am. A Mass of Christian Burial will commence at 11am. Joyce will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum.
