Lamara C. Chaisson, 80, a resident of Morgan City passed away Friday, September 19, 2014 at Teche Regional Medical Center. Lamara was born on January 31, 1934 in Morgan City the son of Dennis and Victoria Albert Chaisson. Lamara was an avid LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints fan. He enjoyed being in the outdoors tending to his garden or going fishing. He loved to dance or go bowling, but of all the things he did in life the thing he loved the most was spending time with his family. He was a loving and caring husband, father, pappy, and pawpaw. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Doris V. Chaisson of Morgan City; five children, Vickie Chaisson of Morgan City, Dee Smith of Bayou Vista, Dorothy Thomas of Lafayette, Lisa Percle of Abbeville, Sammy Percle of Texas; nine grandchildren, Tommie Chaisson, Robert Smith, Kameron Freeman, Jesse Thomas, Tiffany Thomas, Shelbi Lynn Hamlett, Earl Fabre, Kristine Cut Kelvin, Brandy Mills; two great grandchildren, Micah Joseph Landry and Emmanuel Viator; one sister, Jessie Hebert; numerous nieces and nephews. Lamara was preceded in death by his parents; three daughters, Cindy Ann Chaisson, Beverly Mills, Sandra Percle; one granddaughter, Seantell Mills; 17 brothers and sisters. Pallbearers will be Tommie Chaisson, Robert Smith, Kameron Freeman, Chad Foret, John McFarland, Jesse Thomas, Jules Forman. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Twin City Funeral Home with a visitation being held from 10:00 a.m. until till the time of the service. Lamar will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery following the funeral services.
