Mary Mae Aucoin, 87, a resident of Morgan City and a native of Houma, passed away at her residence, Sunday, October 5, 2008. Mae is survived by her husband of 68 years, Clay Aucoin Jr. of Morgan City, two sons, Spencer J. Aucoin and his wife Linda of Berwick, Clark D. Aucoin of Morgan City, one daughter, Helen Sauce and her husband Jack of Franklin, five brothers; Mack LaCoste and his wife Betty of Theriot, Ray LaCoste Jr. and his wife Mazel of Theriot, Melvin LaCoste and his wife Gwen of Theriot, Mark LaCoste and his wife Connie of Laurel, Miss., Ravin LaCoste and his wife Melissa of Theriot, 8sisters; Gloria Liner of Theriot, Hazel Hymel and her husband Roy of Bayou Vista, Lois Lovell of Theriot, Gert DeHart of Theriot, Eula Lirette of Theriot, Pearly Giroir and her husband LJ of Houma, Linda Lirette and her husband Al of Theriot and Sharon Verdin and her husband Daniel of Houma. Mae is also survived by five grandchildren; HerschelSauce and his wife Brendy, Keith Sauce, Melissa Aucoin, Donovan Aucoin and his wife April, Joshua Aucoin and his fiancee Crystal Allbritten, 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Mae was preceded in death by her parents, Ray LaCoste Sr. and Celina Aucoin LaCoste and her step mother Elvina LaCoste, 3 brothers, Ivy LaCoste, Paul LaCoste, Peter LaCoste, 2 sisters, Celina LaCoste and Myrtle Aucoin. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at Twin City Funeral Home from 9am until 2pm. Funeral services will commence at 2pm at Twin City Funeral Home. Mae will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
