Ali Rose Aucoin was born Jan. 22, 2004, which was also her Daddy’s 32nd birthday. She quickly became the princess of the Aucoin household, enjoying purses and shoes and shopping with her Mommy. And, as princess as she was, Ali was also a tomboy! She loved to pick up lizards, worms, frogs, snails and, of course, lady bugs.
Ali loved to ride to the hunting camp with her Daddy. Ali Bug was also a water bug, as she loved to swim. Ali always said she was a big girl and loved to pretend to shave her legs (with a razor minus the blades) and pretended to drive.
She lived the life of a typical 3 year old until she was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor just after Christmas 2007. Her best friends during her illness were Sponge Bob Square Pants, Dora the Explorer and Max and Ruby. Ali enjoyed a wonderful trip to Disney World in Florida. Her absolute favorite part of that trip was Sea World, where she fell in love with the stingrays, sharks, Shamoo the whale (or as she called him, Bammoo) and of course, the dolphins, which she fed! But none of those animals could compare to her very favorites, the giraffes and the alligators! She loved tacos, macaroni and cheese, noodles, ice cream and her all time favorite, snowballs!
Ali passed away with her Mommy, Daddy and other family members at her side on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, after a long, hard fight. She is now in Heaven, “bouncing on clouds and sliding down rainbows,” as one family friend said.
Ali is survived by her parents, Jarrod and Spring Aucoin of Morgan City; her paternal grandparents, Roy Aucoin and Sharon Aucoin, both of Morgan City; her maternal grandparents, Wayne and Ellen Rink of Stephensville; her paternal great-grandmother, Olive Hebert; her maternal great-grandmother, Mariss Rink of Morgan City; her aunts, Mrs. Gordon (Tamara) Jones of Patterson, Mrs. Heath (Destiny) Griffin of Stephensville, Autumn Rink and Jane Maria DeHart, both of Stephensville, and her Nanny, Tara Aucoin of Bayou Vista; her uncles, Wayne Rink Jr. of Stephensville and Kirn Aucoin of Houma; and her cousins, Sage Aucoin of Bayou Vista, Kristen Boudreaux, Alanna Rink, Virginia Rink, Hayden Rink, Barry Johnson, Trevor Johnson and Isabella DeHart, all of Stephensville, and Joshua Jones of Patterson.

It was heartwarming to see so many people come together for the benefit of Ali. She touched many hearts in her lifetime and our hearts have been touched by the generosity of our entire world and our local community.
