Nelwyn Gray Robison

July 29, 1928 — January 11, 2015

Nelwyn Gray Robison passed away peacefully on Sunday January 11, 2015. She was a gentle woman who was loved by all who knew her for her patience, her sweet soul and kind spirit, and her giving nature. She was an amazing mother to seven children as well as the most caring and supportive of MawMaws to her 17 grandchildren and her 25 great grandchildren. Born in Morgan City, Louisiana in 1928 to Leonard and Della Gray, she attended Sacred Heart High School, Southwestern Louisiana Institute (U.L.L.), and received her R.N. in nursing from Touro University in 1950. She married Lige Robison of Baldwin upon graduation and spent most of her life raising seven children. Nelwyn was an owner and employee of The L-H Printing Co. She is survived by her children Greig and husband Andre Chauvin; Stan Robison; Damon Robison and wife Phyllis; Scott Robison; Rani and husband Todd Braus; Wren and husband Joe Hartley of Houston, Texas; Gabrielle and husband Lecil Townsend of Clever, Missouri; her grandchildren Gray Timmons, Katie Chauvin, Julia Chauvin, Casie Callais, Annie Kurtz, Michelle Taquino Alcina, Stuart Robison, Lauren Fanelli, Erin Shipe, Leah Townsend, Emily Townsend, Alaina Salyers, Evan Townsend, Isabella Braus, Julie Hartley and JoeRyan Hartley; brother, Leroy Gray and wife Mary Catherine; numerous nieces and nephews. Nelwyn was preceded in death by parents Leonard and Della Gray, husband Lige Robison, and grandson Stan Robison. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at St. Stephen Catholic Church with Father Clyde Mahler officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Twin City Funeral Home, with the visitation resuming from 8:00 a.m. until the time of Mass on Wednesday at St. Stephen. Following Mass, Nelwyn will be laid to rest in the Berwick Cemetery Mausoleum.
