Herman J. Domangue, 91, a lifelong resident of Morgan City passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015 in Broussard surrounded by his loving family.
Herman was a World War II Veteran who served his country with pride in the United States Navy. After the war, he spent his life on the water as a commercial fisherman; the oilfield industry and was a wonderful and loving husband and father to his family. Herman enjoyed cooking and being outdoors as much as possible especially if it meant passing a good time with his family and friends. Herman was also a devoted Christian and member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Herman is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Keller Domangue of Morgan City; four daughters: Nancy Bernard and Shane of Broussard, Linda Stephens of Morgan City, Cheryl Pennison and Glenn of Morgan City and Karen Vansuffelen and Rick of Carencro; 13 grandchildren: Angela, Bubba, Chad, Timmy, Kam, Shawn, Anna, Jodie, Jeff, Jamie, Jennie, Joey and David; 15 great grandchildren; two brothers: Stephen Domangue Jr. and wife, Liz and Richard Domangue and wife, Connie; three sisters: Olive Hebert, Dorothy Boudreaux and Doris Duhon along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Herman was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Maggie Domangue Sr.; one son: Michael Domangue; one son-in-law, Charlie Stephens along with two brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be held at Twin City Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 beginning at 9am until time of service at 1pm. Herman will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery following the service. Herman will be laid to rest with full military honors provided by the East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad.
