Robert “Bobby” Joseph Plessala, 65, a resident and native of Morgan City, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2008 at his residence. Bobby was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He went on an annual retreat at Grand Coteau, and he was also a chaperone for the CCHS Band. Bobby was a Boy Scout leader, CCD Teacher and ran sideline chains for CCHS Football. He enjoyed the outdoors and camping, liked to tell jokes and knew no stranger. Bobby loved being Santa for the Children. He was the 1# Public Relations man for Morgan City.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Lynette Varnam Plessala of Morgan City, two sons, Steven J. Plessala and his friend Brent Fredrick of Morgan City , Craig T. Plessala and his wife Nicki of Bourg, a half-brother, Raymond Plessala and his wife Patsy of New Orleans and a sister, Trudy Plessala Dyson and her husband Bill of Mobile, Ala. He is also survived by two grandchildren Conner and Kensie Plessala, and six Godchildren Brian, Ryan, and Jeslyn Richard, and Michael and Matthew Breaux and Angella Aucoin.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Clinton and Evadell Aucoin Plessala.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Twin City Funeral Home from 6pm until 9pm. The visitation will resume Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church from 8am until 10am. A Mass of Christian Burial will commence at 10am. Bobby will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
