Jessie Hubert Welch

Jessie Hubert Welch, 83, a recent resident of Morgan City and long time resident of Buras and native of Franklinton, LA, passed away, Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center. Mr. Jessie was a member of the Riverview Baptist Church, and belonged to the American Legion Post 193, after serving his country in the United States Army. Mr. Jessie is survived by his daughter, Wendy Cabiness and her husband Pat of Morgan City, one granddaughter, Kimberly Citrano and her husband Shane, two great-grandchildren, Devin and Jase Citrano. Mr. Jessie was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Mae Solis Welch, one brother, James Carter Welch, one sister, Mary Ella Williams, his parents, George and Alma Ratcliff Welch, one stepbrother, Richard Earl Welch. The visitation will be held at the Immanuel Baptist Church, Wednesday, December 17, 2008 from 5pm until 8pm. The visitation will resume Thursday, December 18, 2008 at Mothe Funeral Home in Harvey from 9am until 1pm. The funeral service will commence at 1pm in the Chapel. Mr. Jessie will be laid to rest in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Port Sulphur.
