Mildred Rose Dugas, 79, a resident of Patterson, passed away Monday, May 12, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Mildred was born on May 1, 1936 in Brucevile, Texas the daughter of Clyde L. Daugherty Sr. and Hattie L. Wood Daugherty.
Mildred enjoyed working with ceramics and she made nativity scenes for her family. She also loved to make pillows and quilts, and she made each of her grandchildren quilts. One of Mildred’s favorite things to do was to play bingo. Of all the things she did in her life she loved spending time with her family. She especially loved to cook for her family making her world famous enchiladas.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, James Roland Dugas Sr. of Patterson; two sons, James Roland Dugas Jr. and wife Cindy of Springdale, Arkansas and Robert A. Dugas Sr. and wife Tina of Patterson; one daughter, Dolores Billiot and husband Paul of Bayou Vista; 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Clyde Daugherty Jr.; one sister, Dolores Daugherty.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 15, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Monsignor J. Douglas Courville officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Twin City Funeral Home with a rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass on Friday at the church. Mildred will be laid to rest in the Ibert’s Memorial Park Cemetery following Mass.
