Fannie J. Ortis, 79, a resident of Ricohoc, passed away Friday, May 29, 2015 at her home.
Fannie was born on August 25, 1935 in Plaquemine the daughter of James and Fannie Henson Jones.
Fannie enjoyed tending to her garden and would spend hours fishing. She loved BBQ’s and seafood boils where she would pass away the time with family and friends.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two children, Kenneth Ortis of Ricohoc and Kammy Boudreaux and husband Brent of Bayou Vista; seven grandchildren, Tori Chauvin and Kewayne Griffin, Gildon Chauvin and wife Lesley, Corey Ortis, Ivy LaCoste, Shantelle Abshire, Kaitlyn Abshire, Kara Abshire; five great grandchildren, Jordyn and Kyle Bellard, Rodney Bellard III, Jaleigh Chauvin, Logan Jacobs; two sisters, Annie Mendoza and Mary Wisdom.
Fannie was preceded in death by her parents, James Jones and Fannie Henson Jones; husband, David Ortis; son, Gabriel James Abshire; six brothers, Johnny Williams, Henry Williams, Mose Williams, Albert Williams Jr., James “JC” Jones, Ernest “Elmo” Stringfellow; two sisters, Katie Marine and Delores “DD” Saucier.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Twin City Funeral Home with Rev. Chad Hebert officiating with the visitation being held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Fannie will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery following the services.
