Lucinda Loupe, 78, a resident of Morgan City, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, January 11, 2009 in Brownsville, TX. Lucinda was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Everyone one that knew Lucinda loved her.
Lucinda is survived by two sons; Bobby Loupe Sr. and his wife Penny of Brownsville, TX, Kenneth Loupe Sr. and his wife Mona of Morgan City, three daughters; Norma Nell Begnaud and her husband Chris of Patterson, Cathy Richard and her husband A.J. Jr. of Morgan City and Cheryl Leon and her husband Mike of Bayou Vista. Lucinda is also survived by one brother, Philip “Chabook” Lajaunie and his wife Judy of Bayou L’Ourse, two sisters, Eula Mae Cheramie of Lockport, Olive Portier of Bayou L’Ourse, 23 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Lucinda was preceded in death by her husband, Lionel Loupe Sr., one son, Lionel Loupe Jr., three grandsons, Lionel Loupe III, Bobby Loupe Jr., Little A.J. Richard III, her parents, Philip and Zoemie Lee Lajaunie, two sisters, Irene Breaux, Elma Grow, three brothers, Roy, Lloyd and Norris Lajaunie.
The family will receive friends, Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Twin City Funeral Home from 6pm until 9pm, with a Rosary at 7pm. The visitation will resume Thursday, January 15, 2009 at Twin City Funeral Home from 8am until 9:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will commence at 10am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Greg Fratt officiating. Lucinda will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
