Stoney Linn

December 31, 1941 — January 26, 2009

Stoney R Linn, a native of Pineville, La. and a resident of Bayou Vista, died Monday January 26, 2009 at Teche Regional Medical Center. He was a heavy equipment operator by trade associated with the oil industry, was very good at his trade, and loved to work on his equipment. He was a Baptist by faith, and loved spoiling his grandchildren. His great sense of humor made him a very unique person. Travel and music were just a few of the things that he enjoyed as well as cooking, cleaning house, cutting his grass and cutting grass for others. He was a great provider. Stoney is survived by his wife, Patricia Dotherow Linn, one son, Stoney Linn Jr., and his wife Naomi of New Iberia, two daughters, Karen R. Rodgers, and her husband, Tim of Patterson, and Margaret L. Lopez, and her husband “Eddy” of Bayou Vista and two grandchildren , Lyndsey K Rodgers and Kade J Linn . He is also survived by four brothers, William A Linn of Pineville, Donial Linn and his wife Linda, of Pineville, Lee Linn of Berwick, and his twin, Tony Linn and his wife Shirley, of Patterson, and one sister, Gloria L Brooks, of Alexandria, La. and his three grand dogs, Rosie, Cloe and Callie. Stoney was preceded in death by his mother and father, Rosalie Bardwell and John Henry Linn. Visitation will be on Wednesday January 28, 2009 beginning at 9 AM until 12 noon. Funeral service will start at noon, all at the Bayou Vista Baptist Church. Burial in the Berwick Mausoleum.
