Hilda Mae Morrision Gaudet, 90, a resident of Bayou Vista, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Patterson Healthcare Center.
Hilda was born on July 13, 1924 in Amelia,the daughter of Charles and Aline Arcemont Morrison.
Hilda enjoyed to be in the outdoors tending to her flower garden and as a result of the care she gave her flower garden she received garden of the month one year. She loved Christmas lights and every year her family would decorate her house with Christmas lights, and she received several awards for her light display as well. In her early years she enjoyed going for boat rides and fishing with her husband. She enjoyed cooking and loved cooking for her family. Of all the things that Hilda enjoyed doing in her life, the thing that she loved doing the most was spending time with her family that she loved so much.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by four children, Martha Courville and husband Jeff of Lafayette, Judy Rogers and husband Jimmy of Stephensville, Ed Gaudet and wife Vernardine of Bayou Vista, Deborah Gaudet of Lafayette; seven grandchildren, Jeff Courville Jr., Carla Dronet, Billy Rogers, Chauntelle Crappell, Heather Chiasson, Matthew Gaudet, Precious Gaudet; eleven great grandchildren; two brothers, Ira Morrison and Charles Morrison; three sisters, Lily Tabor, Gloria Wiggins, Clara Bailey, Wanzie Richard.
Hilda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hembley Pierre Gaudet; one brother, Andrew Morrison; two sisters, Juanita Bailey and Ethel Hebert.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Noas Kerketta officiating. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Twin City Funeral Home with the visitation resuming from 9:00 a.m. until Mass time on Thursday at Sacred Heart. Following Mass Hilda will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
