Delores Cortez

Delores Cortez, 66, a lifelong resident of Morgan City, passed away at Teche Regional Medical Center, Friday, January 30, 2009. Delores was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Delores is survived by her husband, Ricky Cortez of Morgan City, four sons, Ricky Cortez Jr. and his wife Amy of Amelia, Richard Cortez of Morgan City, Stephen Cortez of Morgan City, Daniel Cortez of Morgan City, one daughter, Charity Diamond Williams of Alabama, five sisters, Shirley McCann of Morgan City, Gloria Landry of Bayou Vista, Joy Gaudet of Bayou L’Ourse, Judy LaJaunie of Bayou L’Ourse and Toni Guillory of Bayou L’Ourse. Delores is also survived by six grandchildren, Celeste Ann Cortez, Stephani Cortez, Brandon Cortez, Dwayne Williams, Quan Williams and Brian Williams. Delores was preceded in death by one son, Edwin Cortez, her parents, Edward and Mabel Ohmer Barras, and one sister. A graveside service was held Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Morgan City Cemetery at 11am.
