Judy Marie Bobbitt, 63, a lifelong resident of Berwick, passed away on July 19, 2015 at Teche Regional Medical Center.
She was born on August 15, 1951 in Shreveport, the daughter of Norvell Bobbitt and Velma Boudreaux Bobbitt, and
granddaughter of Lazieme Boudreaux and Maggie Smith Boudreaux.
A 1969 graduate of Berwick High School, she was an employee of the St. Mary Parish Library System and retired with thirty years of service. She enjoyed working and continued in various jobs while her health permitted.
Judy was devoted to her parents and grandparents and never happier than when she was surrounded by family. She was very outgoing and had a number of loyal and dedicated longtime friends who helped her in many ways through the years. Judy was also an excellent cook and rightly proud of her house which she kept meticulously.
She is sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sister, Joan Bobbitt McLaughlin, of Clemson SC; niece, Susanna Thomas Merriman; and great-nieces and great-nephew, Erica L. Britenburg, Morgan T. Merriman, Alexis T. Merriman, and Jordan T. Britenburg, all of Anderson SC; uncle, Bobby Lightell of Mantee, Mississippi; and cousins Margaret Romaire of Morgan City and Luella Smith of Berwick.
Services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Friday, March 18th. Visitation will be at 1pm followed by a Memorial Mass at 2pm, celebrated by Fr. Greg Fratt. A private inurnment will be held in the Berwick Cemtery.
